Rangers have been over reliant on one striker in almost every campaign apart from the one where the league title was won.
Philippe Clement had a similar problem last season when only Cyriel Dessers could stay fit whilst Kemar Roofe and Danilo spent more time in the treatment room.
Hamza Igamane has been signed to add depth and it will be hoped that Danilo can’t be as unlucky again, Albion Rrahmani is also said to be on Rangers radar.

Post Rangers exit has been a nightmare for Alfredo Morelos
One player who probably wishes that they were still at Ibrox is Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian international’s career hasn’t quite gone to plan having to watch his countrymen in the final of the Copa America whilst he takes another step down in the footballing ladder.
This time last year he was heading to Brazil and to the world famous Santos, a move that brought optimism from the 28-year old:
“Obviously I didn’t play much because I had a very complicated injury, but I scored 12 goals.
“Obviously I didn’t play almost every game as a starter. We’re going to work to get Santos out of this situation.
“I’ve done well in European tournaments. I’m very proud of that. It was something beautiful for me. Now I’m living a new stage.
“The decision to come to Santos was important for my career.
“I’d been in Europe for six seasons.
“The Brazilian league is very important. It will obviously help me grow as a footballer. I’ve signed a two-year contract and I hope to do really well here.
“We know that Santos are in a bad situation, but we’re going after the goal of getting the team out of the bottom half of the table.”
Morelos on the move as he heads home in fall from grace
With just four goals and only 17 appearances, Morelos’ time at Santos has been far from what El Bufalo would have expected.
A historic relegation saw his fitness and attitude questioned and now, according to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, he is heading home:
“Alfredo Morelos (28) gave his endorsement for his arrival at Atletico Nacional, preferring it over other offers. The striker wants to play for the ‘purslane’.
“With Santos they are very close to finalizing the agreement and tomorrow will be a vital day in the negotiation.”
Morelos went from having a £20m valuation and an offer from Ligue 1 for £16.25m to being unable to find a club.
Now, despite reports of offers from Europe, he is moving back to Colombia and where it all started for him.
Morelos should be at his peak not regressing.
The powerful striker can’t use serious injury as an excuse because, aside from a thigh injury in 2022, he has largely been injury free with only suspension seeing him miss games.
What hasn’t helped, despite the multiple videos of him working hard in the gym, is his approach to conditioning.
This, and only this, has stopped him from leaving Rangers and going on to bigger and better things.
If ever a player wishes that they could turn back time, I’d wager that it is Alfredo Morelos as his days at the top of football tick down.
