Ross McCrorie looks all set to be moving to Rangers and becoming Derek McInnes’ first signing at his new club.

McCrorie will be moving to Ibrox imminently, becoming the second signing of the summer, following Lawrence Shankland through the door.

Ross McCrorie has completed his medical ahead of Rangers move

Inside Ibrox reports that McCrorie has completed his medical and appears all set to be announced as a Rangers player.

Rangers News understands that personal terms have been agreed with the Scotland international preferring a return to Govan over moving to another Championship club.

There was no decision to make when he found out the Gers were keen on a reunion, and things moved quickly, and an agreement was struck between the two clubs.

James Tavernier’s number 2 jersey will be worn by McCrorie

It has been reported that James Tavernier’s number 2 jersey will be worn by McCrorie when he returns to Ibrox.

At Bristol City as well, the 28-year-old wore the same number, and with it being vacated by Tavernier, he has opted to go for it again.

McCrorie has been a first-team regular for Bristol City and will bring much-needed versatility to the Light Blues.

By signing him, McInnes is bringing in someone who’s not only capable of playing as a full-back, but also as a centre-back and a central midfielder.

McCrorie could earn around £20k/week at Ibrox

McCrorie is reportedly earning £7.7k/week at Bristol City and would be in line for a raise if he is leaving.

At 28, he knows that this is the last big move of his career and his best chance of securing a good payday.

He would likely look for something in the region of £20k per week, as that would put him in the mid-tier of earners at Ibrox, which would be in line with his likely involvement next season.

It remains unclear if the Light Blues will sign another right-back or if they expect him to compete with Dujon Sterling.
