Alfredo Morelos might have been a handy option on Sunday after the Rangers attack’s toothless Old Firm derby display.
Disallowed goal aside, Michael Beale’s side failed to register a shot on target until after the 70 minute mark in a game that was a must win.
It would seem that any hopes of a u-turn for Alfredo Morelos are long gone though with the news that the former Rangers striker has signed for Santos on a two and a half year deal, as reported by Pipe Sierra for Win Sports TV.

Alfredo Morelos set to seal post Rangers Santos move
It might not be a continuance of the European adventure or the top five league that he was dreaming of but it is still a massive club. despite their current issues..
The length of the contract doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence and the Brazilian X league is halfway through it’s current campaign so he has a lot of catching up to do.

Writing on X, Sierra gave an update on Alfredo Morelos’ next destination after walking away from Rangers in May with 124 goals to his name:
“Everything ready and agreed, tomorrow Alfredo Morelos will present medical exams to become a new player of Santos.
“His signing with Fenerbahce fell even with the Colombian in Turkey.
“He will sign for two and a half years with the ‘peixe’.”

Hopefully, for Alfredo Morelos’ sake he has been training harder than his Instagram posts suggest, otherwise he will be miles off the pace when he reports for his first sessions.
Currently sitting in 17th position in Serie A, Santos will be hoping that 2019/20 El Bufalo arrives and not the 2022/23 version.
