Reports coming out of Germany claiming that Rangers have offered a contract to Schalke goalkeeper Martin Fraisl have been rubbished in Scotland.
The sporting director of the Bundesliga 2 club has also moved to quell fears that any decision has been made on the 28-year-old Austrian’s future.

According to Spox, Rangers had already offered Martin Fraisl a two-year deal to move to Ibrox, the Austrian stopper linked earlier in the season and his contract ticking down at the VELTINS-Arena.
That report claimed that Rangers aren’t the only interested party in the 6ft2 stopper, with clubs in Serie A, La Liga and the Premier League also interested.
However, the Daily Record are claiming that whilst there is interest from the Rangers camp, no move has been made for Fraisl as things stand.
That report claims that Martin Fraisl is on a list of potential Rangers goalkeeping options but as things stand the Gers are keeping their cards close to their chest.
Schalke sporting director Rouven Schroder also rejected any suggestion Fraisl’s future has been decided.
“As things stand at present, no decisions have been made in the squad planning,” said Schroder, when asked about Martin Fraisl by German outlet WAZ.
Conflicting reports surround Rangers and Martin Fraisl
The reports come amid a downturn in form from club legend and veteran stopper Allan McGregor, who at 40 is in the final year of his deal at Ibrox with the situation regarding his future unclear.
Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst was under some pressure to drop the goalkeeper following the 2-2 draw with Motherwell but has stuck with Greegsy between the sticks.
The goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 away win over St Johnstone as Rangers recorded their first league away three points since early December last year.

Rangers do have options in the position after Jon McLaughlin signed a new deal and with highly-rated prospect Robby McCrorie also an option.
However, it is believed Rangers are on the hunt for a new stopper with Martin Fraisl one of the names most prominently linked.
Meanwhile, one Rangers loanee is reportedly set to have his contract ripped up in the summer according to reports on the continent.
