Rangers have struck a new deal with goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin which will tie the Scotland international stopper to Ibrox until 2024.
The extension for the 33-year-old comes at a time when the goalkeeping position at Rangers comes under the microscope amid the situation surrounding Allan McGregor.

The veteran Rangers goalkeeper and club legend turns 40 this week and has come in for criticism for two costly errors in the 3-3 draw away to Ross County.
Whilst there is little doubt Allan McGregor has credit in the bank at Rangers and retains his spot for now, the conversation about replacing him at the end of the season continues to rage.
Stand-in stopper Jon McLaughlin has rarely put a foot wrong for Rangers and for many fans is the obvious choice to take up the gloves when Allan McGregor moves on.
This new deal stands as a statement of trust in the ex-Hearts and Sunderland star’s abilities and Jon McLaughlin is delighted to sign on for another two years at Rangers after joining in the summer of 2020.
“I am delighted to have committed my future to Rangers for the next two-and-a-half years,” said Jon [Rangers].
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club so far and being a part of the team which won the title last season will live with me forever.
“I want the opportunity to be a part of future success at this club, while hopefully also adding more Scotland caps to what I have already.”
Jon McLaughlin signs Rangers deal amid goalkeeping conundrum
Whilst Jon McLaughlin might’ve signed on the dotted line at Ibrox, the Scotland goalie isn’t the only name being mentioned alongside the potentially soon-to-be vacant #1 slot at Rangers.
Ibrox Academy graduate Robby McCrorie, now 23, has long been touted as the long-term replacement for Allan McGregor at Rangers and is still at the club.
Andy Firth is also at the club but the Steven Gerrard signing looks likely to leave when his contract expires come the end of the season.
Away from those options already at Rangers, the likes of St Johnstone goalkeeper Zander Clark and West Brom stopper Sam Johnstone have previously been linked.

Another Scottish Premiership rival in Dundee United keeper Benjamin Siegrist also put in an impressive audition as the Arabs narrowly missed out on a point against Celtic.
Whatever the case, we expect some movement in the position this summer unless of course Allan McGregor and the club opt to have one more year between the sticks.
Speaking of Rangers deals, the Ibrox club are also reportedly set to pip a host of top Premier League clubs to the signing of a top European talent.
