Serie A giants Juventus will tear up the contract of Aaron Ramsey as he struggles for fitness at Rangers and he enters the final year of his deal.

The Welsh international midfielder, 31, is currently on loan at Ibrox but has played only 93 minutes since joining on deadline day and has missed the last four games through injury.

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst admits the club have no clear timeline on the ex-Arsenal star’s return as pressure mounts on the board for failing to properly improve the side this January.

Rangers have blown a six point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership and now sit three points behind Old Firm rivals Celtic with an inferior goal difference.

As a result of Ramsey’s lack of fitness – something van Bronckhorst admitted Rangers didn’t see coming when they signed Aaron – reports in Italy have already suggested Rangers won’t be taking up a reported option-to-buy come the end of the season.

Rangers loanee Aaron Ramsey to have Juventus contract ripped up

Now, fresh reports are claiming that the Italian club have run out of patience and are preparing to rip up the Welshman’s exorbitant contract, which is set to expire in 2023.

Signing the reported £400k per week deal in 2019 [BBC Sport], things have not worked out for Aaron Ramsey in Italy with the midfielder’s time in Serie A plagued by injuries.

Now, according to Calcio Mercato the Italian club are set to “cancel” the midfielder’s contract.

These reports claim that Juventus also tried to terminate the contract of Aaron Ramsey before the midfielder signed on at Rangers.

However, the report claims Ramsey rejected the offer of mutual termination and given the player’s recent injury status and high wages we’re not so sure he’ll agree this time around either.

Whatever the case, Rangers do harbour hopes of getting Aaron Ramsey fit enough to contribute to the title run-in.

But if the midfielder cannot get up to speed, and Rangers don’t lift 56 this season, expect the Ibrox boardroom to get both barrels.
