Rangers right back James Tavernier is once again being linked with a move to Saudi Arabia during the January transfer window.
Philippe Clement has his first signing through the door at Ibrox with striker Fabio Silva arriving on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Clement will want more new signings yet, but he may need to wheel and deal to bring additional signings to Ibrox.
Misfit Sam Lammers is being lined up for a move to Utrecht whilst Ridvan Yilmaz is being linked with Serie A side Hellas Verona.
Now we have a more unlikely rumour, with speculation emerging around James Tavernier’s future at Rangers…
James Tavenrier linked with Saudi Arabia move
TEAMtalk now report that Rangers captain Tavernier is wanted by Saudi Arabian clubs this month.
It’s suggested that Tavernier is on the radar of multiple clubs despite still having more than two years to run on his Rangers deal.
The identity of the interested clubs is unclear but we have to imagine that Al Ettifaq will be in the mix.
Former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is in charge of Al Ettifaq and would surely love to reunite with Tavernier in Saudi Arabia.
We saw Tavernier being linked with a move to the Middle East over the summer, but that didn’t lead to a transfer.

Tavernier has stayed put at Rangers and we can’t really see him moving on right now.
The 32-year-old is settled in Glasgow and can surely see that Rangers are moving forward under Clement.
Tavernier won the Scottish League Cup under Clement last month and can no doubt imagine more success with the Belgian at the helm.
Why leave Rangers now? The only reason to head to Saudi Arabia in this situation would be money, and we still think there is time for Tavernier to land a big pay day down the line, if that is what he wants.
We don’t think Tavernier will be going anywhere, even if it’s Gerrard who wants to sign him, and believe he will be at Ibrox for a while yet.
