The Rangers transfers news this week kicks off with reports that the Ibrox club are set to ship out the deadwood with Jon McLaughlin and Scott Wright in their sites.
Gers fans will be buoyed by reports that the both Wright and McLaughlin are to leave the club amid a backdrop of frustration which has spread across the entire team.
These two players in particular are not viewed as good enough to bulk out the team in the title challenge with Celtic and that has proven to be the case across the last few seasons.

Jon McLaughlin had impressed as deputy to Allan McGregor since joining the club but literally dropped the ball in an earlier Old Firm clash this season which has set the tone for a disastrous campaign.
The Scotland international goalkeeper is not viewed as the man to take the club forward between the sticks and as Rangers links to Jack Butland intensify it appears the 35-year-old is to be moved on.
Scott Wright has had substantially less impact on the Rangers first team since joining the club from Aberdeen in the January of 2021, despite picking up a league winners’ medal in 2021.
Wright has had several opportunities to prove himself, even starting in the Europa League Final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt and scoring in the Scottish Cup win over Hearts, but the signing has not bolstered the attacking options at Ibrox enough.
Amid the transfers news that Rangers will be seemingly be moving the player on, it will not come as a surprise to Ibrox fans who have not seen Scott Wright provide enough firepower since moving from the Dons.
Both players are symbolic of a lack of strength of depth and of quality options at the club and as Michael Beale confirms those out of contract are likely to be moved on, this is another boost to fans.
The club’s supporters want to see a new direction taken and whilst that is likely to cost money, if Jon McLaughlin and Scott Wright are to be moved on then their places in the squad can be taken up by players who can deliver higher contributions.
