Rangers close in on two signings as Michael Beale revolution ramps up

Rangers are closing in on two new signings in Jack Butland and Kieran Dowell as Michael Beale signals a mass exodus after surrendering the treble to Celtic.

This chicken-livered Ibrox squad of perennial letdowns haven’t so much lost the treble as they have practically tied the green and white ribbons on every trophy on Scotland.

Rangers’ resistance in the face of Celtic’s well-organised resources, both on and off the park, has been nothing short of a disgrace and the axe is being swung in every direction.

Speaking after the game, Michael Beale claimed there could be as much as a 12 player turnover – although we reckon it might be more – as Rangers’ gross squad negligence comes back to bite this season.

Once again quite literally surrendering a trophy to Celtic in the shape of the Scottish Cup, there is no patience for anyone at Ibrox as the paying supporters feel ripped off and let down in equal measure.

But there is some light at the end of the tunnel, at least a flicker of it, as Rangers close in on two new signings and the has-beens and have-nots prepare to, finally, leave our club.

Rangers close in on news signings as pressure builds on Beale

Rangers have put sentiment before common sense on more than one occasion whilst they’ve put their faith in a group of players who have, save for two trophies out of 15, only known failure at Ibrox.

Now, Michael Beale is reportedly closing in on two players in the shape of Jack Butland and Kieran Dowell with the club’s first two signings of the summer window imminent.

Jack Butland will likely replace Allan McGregor, the former England international a solid addition and at the very least, ready to take the conversation away from a position which should’ve been sorted out two summers ago.

Kieran Dowell appears to be a highly-rated midfielder south of the border and whilst his Championship pedigree will hardly get pulses racing, Todd Cantwell has shown there is value in the English second tier.
