Rangers are understood to be continuing their pursuit of Hammarby right-back Hampus Skoglund this summer.
Danny Rohl wants a quality right-back to replace James Tavernier and is said to be a big fan of the 22-year-old.
Rangers have even held talks with Skoglund’s representatives over a potential transfer in the next few weeks.
A four-man shortlist has been drawn up to replace James Tavernier…
We believe Hampus Skoglund is the ideal candidate. Let us know what you think!
Rangers progress in Hampus Skoglund talks as £2m-£3m deal likely
According to TEAMtalk, it would take Rangers between £2m and £3m to secure the services of Skoglund.
Talks are understood to be progressing well between the club and player, and a resolution is expected sooner rather than later.
This is not to say that a deal will necessarily be done, but there is optimism on all sides of it happening.
Who is the worst-ever Rangers manager? 🤔
We think it cannot be anyone else except Russell Martin!
Skoglund himself fancies moving to Rangers and competing for silverware in the 2026/27 season.
Rohl also admires the Hammarby defender, but he is not the only option he is considering ahead of the transfer window opening in the middle of June.
If the Gers want to sign him, they will need to move quickly as there are a host of clubs, including ones in Germany, keen on snapping him up.

Why Danny Rohl wants to bring Skoglund to Ibrox
Rohl likely values Skoglund’s blend of athleticism and technical quality, along with his defensive reliability.
The Swedish defender possesses excellent pace, stamina and acceleration, allowing him to bomb forward effectively while recovering quickly to help defensively.
On the ball, he is composed, with good dribbling, crossing and decision-making in the final third, offering width and creativity without over-relying on goals and assists in the way Tavernier did in his later years.
Defensively, Skoglund is arguably better than Tavernier in recent seasons, excelling in tackles, interceptions, duel success and overall anticipation, which addresses some of the vulnerabilities Rangers have shown at the back.
Signing him would give Rohl a better chance at winning the league, so it makes sense that he is pursuing the defender.
