Rangers transfer latest as insider suggests six-figure deal is live

If the transfer window shut tomorrow, Michael Beale would be happy with the business he has done for Rangers even if players like Scott Wright, Glen Kamara and Fashion Sakala are still at the club.

Ideally though, the Gers gaffer will be wanting to move those that won’t be guaranteed minutes on and all three are said to be close to the exit.

After The 4th Official revealed that Rangers winger Scott Wright had turned down a move to Turkey for contractual reasons, Heart and Hand have given an update which suggests that the deal could still be on.

Rangers exit for Scott Wright still on the cards

Speaking on the Daily Update for Thursday 3rd August, David Edgar reported that a decision has yet to be made, one way or the other:

“Scott Wright, who should complete his move to the Turkish side later this week.

“That one’s been a bit up in the air.

“There’s been times it’s looked as though it’s going to happen and times it’s looked like it almost certainly isn’t going to happen.

“But, it’s still live as we speak to you today.”

Rangers fans were left confused when Scott Wright travelled to Turkey only to be seen in playing again and back in training, whereas Kamara and Sakala have not.

The fee, said to be £500,000, might not be a lot but when you consider that he was basically a swap deal for Ross McCrorie, who has earned us £300,000 this summer, we have done alright out of the transfer.

If he moves on that is.

The little deals all add up, as does having to pay players to sit in the stand and it is in Michael Beale’s best interests to move them on.

If Rangers can complete the reported exits for the money being quoted, as well as Antonio Colak’s departure, our nine summer signings will almost have been paid for by players deemed surplus to requirements.

Now, that is how a player trading model should be working.
