Rangers and Philippe Clement are assessing their transfer options ahead of the January window.
There have been improvements at Ibrox of late but the manager will still look to beef up his squad, with player unavailability forcing his hand further.
Gers have shifted their main transfer attentions to centre-back after John Souttar’s injury, keeping him out for weeks, leaving them with only Robin Propper and Leon Balogun.
But that doesn’t mean they won’t look to add in other positions also and Clement has been holding talks with the Rangers board about January plans and the budget he will have available to him.
The Ibrox men have also been linked with two strikers despite Hamza Igamane’s improvement and Danilo getting more game time.
Rangers are also looking at Falkirk’s right-back Keelan Adams, as exclusively revealed by Rangers News last week.
Falkirk boss on Rangers target Adams
Adams’ form has been such that Falkirk manager John McGlynn admits he would be surprised and disappointed if there wasn’t interest in the player.
But he insists the club are not in a position in which they need to sell after extending his contract and raking in money from cup games against Hearts and Celtic.
McGlynn told the Falkirk Herald: “I’d be surprised if there wasn’t (interest) in Keelan because he has been so good. I’d be disappointed if there was no interest.
“Whether it materialises into anything, who knows. Certainly, no one has came to me yet and enquired.
“We’re very happy with Keelan and that’s why we extended his contract by a year. We hope for him to be here for the foreseeable and certainly beyond this window. It is all good so far.
“We’ve brought in money financially from our cup runs and our fans backing.
“We’ve played Celtic and Hearts and that has brought in money – we don’t need to sell.”
Gers scouts have been monitoring Adams and have watched him on multiple occasions this season, most recently during the 3-0 win over Raith Rovers.
The 23-year-old, who was released by Rangers as a youth, has impressed in a Bairns side which has marched to the top of the Championship, scoring three and assisting five.
Do Rangers face any competition for Adams?
The Ibrox club are not the only one believed to be interested in Falkirk ace Adams.
Rangers News understands that English Championship duo Leeds and Swansea are also keeping tabs and have had representatives at games.
Adams is contracted until 2027 so the Bairns would be able to rake in a decent fee if they sold next month.
Remarkably, Adams was playing Lowland League football just last season before Falkirk snapped him up, loaning him back to Cumbernauld Colts for the rest of the campaign.
He fully made the switch in the summer and took to Championship football like a duck to water, already a key player for McGlynn.
