Rangers star Glen Kamara puts himself in the shop window amid transfer links to Italy and France with a stunning goal for the Finland national team.

The 27-year-old midfielder was recalled the country’s starting line-up for the clash with San Marino and he scored the nation’s opener in a blistering 6-0 European Championship qualifying victory.

San Marino are used to being rolled over in these international qualifiers but the country had kept the scoreline to a respectable 2-0 come half time.

But after Glen Kamara’s rolled finish and a goal from Benjamin Kallman had Finland comfortable at the break, a Daniel Hakans hattrick and goal from Teemu Pukki ensured a rout in Helsinki.

It was Glen Kamara’s second goal for the Finland national team on the player’s 51st appearance for the country, the other strike coming in a 2-0 UEFA Nations League win over Greece in 2018.

The goal comes at a time when Glen Kamara is being heavily linked with a move out of Rangers, with the player reportedly attracting £5m interest from France, Italy and the English Championship.

Having come through at Arsenal and come to Rangers via a stint with Dundee, there’s a feeling things have gone stale for Kamara at Ibrox after a disappointing season at the club last year.

Rangers boss Michael Beale has previously discussed the player’s situation and hinted that Glen Kamara will need to think long and hard about his Ibrox future and whether his heart is in the fight at the club.

Responding to the comments whilst on Finland duty, Glen Kamara himself said “no comment” when he rhetorically asked if he was considering a move out of Rangers.

“Can you assume I’m seriously considering a move? No comment,” said Glen Kamara.

“How do I reflect on my time there? It’s been amazing. Four-and-a-half years I’ll have spent there come this summer.

“To join such a massive club and have all the support I did, the fans are amazing and depending on where you go next you might never see that again.

“They are crazy in a good way. The club’s stature is massive – having a Europa League run, winning the league, going unbeaten, winning a cup.

“I had some good times there. We could definitely have done better because with the teams we had we just came up short a few times.

“But I had a really good time, I won trophies there and did things I’d never done in my career before.”

With that goal for Finland Glen Kamara has helped his country to the top of Group H in European Championship Qualifying, where the nation is level on points with Kazakhstan (9) after four games.
