Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has dropped a big hint that his Ibrox career is coming to an end as the Gers consider a 50% decrease in the player’s transfer valuation.

Finnish international Glen Kamara, 27, was responding to transfer comments from Michael Beale which appeared to admit that the player’s future at Ibrox was at a crossroads.

The Rangers manager had claimed at the beginning of the month that the midfielder was either going to be at Ibrox for the “considerable future” or that the club would “probably sell him” in the upcoming window.

Glen Kamara talks potential Rangers transfer

Speaking ahead of Finland’s upcoming UEFA Euro Qualifiers with Slovenia and San Marino, Glen Kamara claims he hasn’t considered Beale’s transfer comments but he didn’t exactly inspire confidence his future lies at Rangers.

“No [I haven’t seen Beale’s quotes], I’ve been on holiday mode so I’ve taken my mind off football,” Glen Kamara told Finnish podcast Pallokerho.

“We had conversations a couple of months ago so I’m not surprised with those comments.

“I feel like I know where I’m at in my head and he knows it too. I’m not going to say anything, time will tell I guess.

“Can you assume I’m seriously considering a move? No comment.

“How do I reflect on my time there? It’s been amazing. Four-and-a-half years I’ll have spent there come this summer.

“To join such a massive club and have all the support I did, the fans are amazing and depending on where you go next you might never see that again.

“They are crazy in a good way. The club’s stature is massive – having a Europa League run, winning the league, going unbeaten, winning a cup.

“I had some good times there. We could definitely have done better because with the teams we had we just came up short a few times.

“But I had a really good time, I won trophies there and did things I’d never done in my career before.”

Finnish international to leave Ibrox?

It all feels very past-tense for Glen Kamara, who joined Rangers for a widely reported transfer fee of only £50k from Dundee back in January 2019 under Steven Gerrard.

Signing a new contract back in 2021, the midfielder is contracted to Rangers until 2025 but plenty feel the club made a mistake when a reported £10m transfer to OGC Nice collapsed last summer.

There’s a feeling that Glen Kamara has gone stale at Rangers and that change might be good for all parties but the Ibrox side are now looking for 50% of that fee this summer.

The suggestion that Rangers might now only bank £5m is a testament both to the downturn in Kamara’s form but also the poor squad management which blighted the Ibrox reign of outgoing sporting director Ross Wilson.

In total the midfielder has made 193 appearances for Rangers, scoring nine goals and laying on 11 assists.
