Glen Kamara has yet to return to Rangers despite pre-season training being well under way with many thinking that he was close to a departure.
The 27-year old Finland international has had plenty of links, however, as yet, nothing concrete has been announced.
Now, Michael Beale has explained why Glen Kamara has not been seen and what his Rangers future holds, as reported by The Rangers Review.

What does the future hold for Glen Kamara at Rangers?
When asked for an update on transfers, the Gers gaffer said:
“There’s been quite a few inquiries for Glen Kamara.
“We gave him an extended break due to his international stuff in the summer and unfortunately, he’s been ill the last few days so he didn’t come to Germany with us.
“He’s due to return to training in the coming days and the speculation will be ongoing.”

Hopefully, the inquires turn to bids because there clearly isn’t a future for Glen Kamara at Rangers.
It’s a far cry from the praise that Michael Beale showered on the Light Blues number 18 not long after arriving at the club in response to transfer speculation:
“We have a fantastic relationship that goes back a long, long way and I’d always want him to be in a Rangers team that I was watching or I was coaching.”
Or, how the Gers boss thought Kamara’s career would pan out after taking over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst:
“Glen has got 100 per cent of my trust. He was hugely important in my previous time here and while he’s still young, he’s coming into the prime of his career. He will be a big player for Rangers moving forward.”
Beale soon found out that, after being away for just over a year, the player he thought he was reuniting with hadn’t been seen for some time.
Glen Kamara is still one of Rangers most saleable assets though in terms of his status in the squad and the money that he could bring in.
The 4th Official claimed that an offer of £4m plus add-ons and a 10% sell on clause had been received from Leeds United, with another from Besiktas for £4.7m also reported.
A £5m valuation from Rangers certainly doesn’t seem excessive and you would expect that both of the previously mentioned bids – if accurate – would see Kamara allowed to leave.
Glen Kamara might be returning to Rangers training but, at this rate, I can’t see him being there for long.
