When Glen Kamara spoke about Rangers in the past tense on international duty, it seemed like his time at the club had come to an end.

A few weeks later and nothing has been announced with the 27-year old still to report back to training.

With speculation increasing around Glen Kamara, transfer journalist Dean Jones has claimed that a new club has joined the chase for the Rangers midfielder via GiveMeSport with Turkish outlet Sozcu reporting that a £4.7m bid has been made by Besiktas.

Glen Kamara, at his peak for Rangers, once had a £20m price tag on his head, now, despite still having a long-term contract, that figure is said to be closer to £5m.

Glen Kamara’s Rangers exit looms as interest intensifies

After recent links to Besiktas, Jones has named who else might be interesting in signing the 52-times capped Finland player:

“Glen Kamara has been a topic of talk for some time, but it does look like he will finally leave.

“Leeds and Southampton are looking at him, and for clubs like that, in the Championship, he would probably be a great signing.

“He has offers from abroad too though, so it’ll be interesting to see what he decides to do.”

The report from Sozcu follows on from claims of an initial loan bid which was then increased to an offer of over £2m to one which would now surely see Rangers gladly accept.

For Rangers sake, it will be a good thing if there are multiple offers.

If Michael Beale can land one big fee, it means that he can be more flexible later in the window, given that he hasn’t spent that much himself in terms of new players, in the grand scheme of things.

Glen Kamara always played his best football for Rangers in Europe so it would be a surprise to see him go the physicality of the English Championship, however, he wouldn’t face his nemesis there – the low block.

The squad is in good shape but Michael Beale needs to start clearing the dead wood and bringing in money, hopefully, Kamara could be first.
