Rangers transfer news appears be like London buses in that as fans wait for an update on one striker, two are set to come at once in the shape of Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers.
The Ibrox club are reportedly set to spend the guts of £8m on the pair of these very different forwards, both of whom plied their trade in Italy last season.

For all intents and purposes, Dutch striker Sam Lammers appears to be closing on the move the fastest, with reports that Rangers have agreed a £3.5m deal for the 26-year-old Atalanta forward.
The striker’s recent goalscoring record of five league strikes across four clubs in three seasons doesn’t exactly inspire, but there’s a highly-rated player there who clearly just hasn’t found his home.
Perhaps in Michael Beale’s energetic Rangers side the 6ft3 frontman can find his feet and form after loan stints at Eintracht Frankfurt, Empoli and Sampdoria since moving to Italy.
Rangers transfer news details double striker swoop
Cyriel Dessers has had a slightly different journey in the Italian top flight since moving to Cremonese last summer from Belgian club KRC Genk.
The 28-year-old Belgian-born Nigerian international is set to cost around £4.4m according to the latest transfer news with Rangers capitalising on the fact Dessers’ current side were relegated from the Italian top flight.
A different type of striker than Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers has a prolific scoring record during several spells in the Eredivisie and looks to be a direct replacement for Alfredo Morelos.
But whilst these reports appear to be some way down the line for Rangers, there is also some transfer news claiming that a third striker could be a genuine Ibrox target.
Rangers tailing three strikers?
Out-of-contract Bordeaux striker Josh Maja is another who has been extensively linked to Rangers and – whilst the reports don’t have the same gathering intensity – they remain regular and have yet to be quashed.
Rangers have had issues in the striking positions for the last few seasons, even starting the Europa League Final without a recognised forward, and it appears enough is finally enough.
Firepower is the order of the day at Ibrox and in these three very different forwards, perhaps the club can begin to bridge the goalscoring gap that has cost Rangers glory in the last two campaigns.
