Rangers nerves are jangling over the pursuit of Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers amid reports the Gers are unhappy with the Italian side’s stubborn negotiating.
According to the Scottish Sun, as Rangers close in on Abdallah Sima the club is growing increasingly frustrated with the Serie B side’s transfer stance over 28-year-old forward Dessers.

The report claims that Rangers are understood to be “increasingly unhappy with the valuation” attached to the player from the Italian club’s point of view.
Reports have varied up to £7m regarding Cremonense’s valuation of the striker, with reports in Scotland appearing to suggest Rangers want to pay around £5m for the striker.
The Sun aren’t the only ones claiming that Rangers are growing frustrated with the transfer situation surrounding the striker, earlier reports claiming “confidence is low” a deal for Cyriel Dessers can now be struck.
This comes with the Rangers negotiations over Cyriel Dessers seemingly endless and the club’s high profile and public pursuit of the striker entering its second month.
Rangers doubts emerge over Cyriel Dessers
Cyriel Dessers has impressed during stints in the Netherlands and in Italy, whilst his playing career in birth-country Belgium isn’t quite so impressive.
For all the time spent time scoring goals with NAC Breda, FC Utrecht, Heracles Almelo and Feyenoord in Holland, the striker has been less present, or prolific, at OH Leuven, Lokeren and KRC Genk.
Across his clubs in the Netherlands, Dessers has netted 86 goals in 166 club games (approx. 10.5k minutes, 123 minutes per goal) whilst in Belgium the striker’s return is 18 goals in 85 club games (approx. 2.7k minutes, 146 minutes per goal).

Cyriel Dessers netted seven times for Cremonese last season in 29 games, playing approximately 1.7k minutes and averaging a goal every 242 minutes as the Italians were relegated.
There have also been suggestions that Rangers have one eye on Feyenoord striker Danilo as a potential back-up option should the negotiations with Cremonese over Dessers fail.
Rangers have already raided a club in Italy for the signing of Sam Lammers from Sampdoria with Nigerian international striker Dessers the clear first-choice to replace Alfredo Morelos in Glasgow.
Rangers have certainly been busy already in the transfer market with the club sealing deals with Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling and Kieran Dowell on top of the aforementioned deal for Lammers.
