Rangers move for Feyenoord’s Danilo has picked up pace with it now looking likely that Michael Beale will get his man.

When Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers were added to Abdallah Sima, it looked as though there would have to be departures to see any other forward additions.

In fact, it looks like Rangers will be getting Danilo to add to that group and that Jose Cifuentes could be joining him soon too.

It has been a good window for the Gers gaffer, and it seems like the board have given him the resources that he needs to get the players that he wants.

Rangers looking to complete double Danilo and Jose Cifuentes deal

Rangers signing Danilo and Jose Cifuentes is a massive statement of intent given who else has arrived in this window already.

We’ve signed some good players but the complaint over the last few seasons has been about signing starters.

Players who are better than what we have.

If Rangers sign Danilo and Cifuentes, they are instant upgrades and fit the style that Beale is trying to impart.

Danilo, for example, is a perfect tactical fit.

Both players are incredibly mobile, but they are also capable of playing in a number of positions.

Like Nicolas Raskin, there is no drop in standard wherever they play.

Rangers will now be hoping that the pair can be brought in this week with just two friendly fixtures left before the season kicks off.

Thankfully for Rangers, Danilo has been playing – and scoring – in games for Feyenoord and Jose Cifuentes has been playing competitively for Los Angeles FC.

Other than settling in with new teammates, it shouldn’t take them long to get up to speed.

Beale promised an exciting summer, and these two are going to be worth the wait.
