Rangers-linked BK Hacken striker Benie Traore has broken his silence amid links to the Ibrox side this summer and admits he’s open to a move away from Sweden.

The 20-year-old Ivorian attacker has taken the Allsvenskan by storm this season and has also been heavily linked with a move to Premier League Sheffield United.

Whilst the latest reports have suggested Benie Traore is a back-up option for Rangers should deals for the likes of Cyriel Dessers and Danilo fail to come off, the Ibrox side are said to be monitoring the player.

Now, in comments which have been attributed to the Gothenburg Post, via Sheffield Star, Benie Traore has been discussing his own future and admits that, amid links to Rangers and Sheffield United, has put his trust in his agent.

“I think you never know if you’re ready or not,” said Traore.

“You just have to dare to take the chance and see for yourself. I’m a football player, I’m ready for most challenges. In my head I can play anywhere! My agent will make the best choices for me.”

Benie Traore impresses as Rangers look elsewhere

Benie Traore has been on explosive form for BK Hacken this season, netting an impressive 15 goals in 20 appearances this season his club 3rd in the Swedish top flight table.

The links have certainly whetted the appetite of Rangers supporters, many of whom want to see the club sign Benie Traore over any of the other options mooted.

However, Rangers’ attentions certainty appear to be elsewhere as things stand with the Ibrox side closing in on a deal for Cyriel Dessers.

With an announcement expected imminently, you could say the Cremonese forward is a less risky signing given his age of 28 and his experience of scoring in Belgium, Holland and Italy.

There are also those high-profile links to Brazilian striker Danilo, with Rangers said to be tailing the Feyenoord attacker closely this summer.

Despite reports of a failed first bid, Rangers interest in Danilo reportedly remains “live” and so long as it does, then we suspect those links to Benie Traore will remain on the back burner.
