Rangers are keen on signing Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl ahead of Cardiff City.
Despite signing Dan Neil and closing in on a move for Vanja Dragojevic, the Light Blues want to add a third new midfielder in the coming weeks.
This is because Nicolas Raskin is facing an uncertain future at Ibrox, while Mohamed Diomande and Connor Barron could both be made surplus to requirements.
What are your expectations from Jens Hjerto-Dahl at Rangers?
Rangers appear to be closing in on his signing!
Cardiff City steal a march on Rangers in Jens Hjerto-Dahl chase
Cardiff have now entered advanced negotiations as they have jumped ahead of the Light Blues in the race, according to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph.
Hjerto-Dahl does fancy a move to Rangers, but he is also considering a move to the Welsh side.
This does not bode well for the Ibrox outfit as they have prioritised a move for the Norwegian midfielder.
What changes would you like to see at Ibrox?
The money is there to be spent!
The Gers have already tabled a bid for him, as have Cardiff, but both offers have fallen short of Tromso’s valuation.
Rangers News understands that it would take £8.5m in order to bring the highly-rated midfielder to Ibrox.
Much like Cardiff, they are in talks as well, but if they feel that he is unaffordable, then they could decide to walk away from the deal.

What can Rangers do to sign Hjerto-Dahl ahead of Cardiff?
Rangers can offer the midfielder European football and the chance to compete for trophies.
He also knows that it is a bigger platform to thrive, and if he does intend to move to Europe’s richest clubs in the future, the chances of that increase if he’s at Ibrox.
Cardiff played in England’s third tier last season, and their primary goal for next season will be to avoid relegation.
What is your reaction to the new third kit?
It's fair to say a lot of Rangers fans have hated it…
If that is the kind of challenge the 20-year-old wants, then he is free to move there, but it is unlikely that it would tempt him over Rangers.
This could also be agent talk in order to get the Gers to hurry up, because it is clear that they need to in order to seal the deal.
Missing out on Hjerto-Dahl is something that the club will regret, and they absolutely cannot delay things any further.
