Whilst Rangers’ transfer dealings haven’t always had the desired impact in recent seasons, the club’s loan business has delivered consistent success stories.
Whether it’s Malik Tillman, Abdallah Sima or Vaclav Cerny, Rangers have managed to secure the short term services of players whose ability far outweighs the Scottish Premiership.
But as one former Ibrox loanee is tipped for a €20m (£17.1m) move to the Bundesliga, Rangers have been handed a boost in the long-term pursuit of one part-time star.

Fabio Silva wanted by Bundesliga duo in £17.1m deal
Fabio Silva might not have made as big an impact as the aforementioned Rangers loanees but the Portuguese striker didn’t always have the luck at Ibrox.
An injury to Sima forced the hitman out wide and Rangers never seen the sort of form that has Silva making waves in La Liga with Las Palmas.
Set to return to Wolves come the end of the season, Silva’s ten goals for the La Liga strugglers could prove decisive as they look to avoid relegation this season.
But they’ve also attracted the attentions of would-be suitors, with Bundesliga pair Eintracht Frankfurt and VfL Wolfsburg linked.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who also claims the 22-year-old has suitors in England and Spain.
Rangers given potential Vaclav Cerny transfer boost
Whilst Rangers obviously cannot compete with such high valuations, even despite the impending US takeover at Ibrox, Fabio Silva’s situation could hand Rangers a transfer boost.
Vaclav Cerny has been Rangers’ best outfield performer this season but is set to return to VfL Wolfsburg at the end of the season.
Rangers are interested in signing Cerny permanently but the player’s camp have always suggested that the Gers cannot afford the sorts of transfer fees required.
With Wolfsburg needing to fund a would-be move for Silva, they’ll need to raise the money somehow with Cerny likely to leave the German clubs this summer.
Cerny is interested in a move to Rangers but can the Ibrox side put together the financial package that would secure the Czech international’s signature?
