Rangers spend a lot of money in the summer looking to replace the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent, the only surprise being that local talent like Bojan Miovski was totally ignored.
For two seasons in a row the reported £535,000 signing from Hungary has hit 20 goals, give or take, in a team that is far from creative and it now appears as if Gers boss Philippe Clement has missed the boat, if he was interested that is.
The Rangers squad will need forward reinforcements again in the summer but the price-tag given to Bojan Miovski might see the Aberdeen forward ignored once again.

Rangers miss boat with Bojan Miovski
In a moment of rare punditry rather than pantomime, the Sky Sports panel of former Dons keeper Joe Lewis, Kris Boyd and Chris Sutton spoke about the qualities of the North Macedonia international after scoring at Ibrox and why neither of the two Glasgow giants had made a move for the 24-year old.
Responding specifically about Rangers and why Bojan Miovski wasn’t an obvious choice in January, Boyd replied:
“I think finances, I think, obviously, Rangers spent a lot of money in the summer at that top end of the pitch and it didn’t quite work out.
“Now, maybe, Lammers has left, Dessers, there were reports that somebody might have been interested in January.
“There might have been an opportunity then if he had moved on, they might have went and got someone.”
When the ex-Gers hero asked Lewis how much he thought the Aberdeen talisman was worth, he said:
“£8m plus add-ons.”
At least.
If Rangers had a striker on 20 goals, we’d be demanding nearly double that and, at 24, Bojan Miovski has all the tools to play at a higher level.
We didn’t need to sign Lammers with the players that Michael Beale already had – see Todd Cantwell’s current form as the perfect example – and we definitely overpaid for Dessers.
In the summer or even January when we were linked, Miovski wouldn’t have cost us £8m – the price paid for Lammers and Dessers – but he will now, and another opportunity has been missed.
