Rangers are eyeing a deal for Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, with talks over his future already ongoing.

Lawrence Shankland looks set to be the first piece of business through the door at Ibrox this summer, but the Light Blues have no intention of stopping there.

Andrew Cavenagh’s recruitment team are keen to remain on the front foot in the transfer market, with further targets already identified as the rebuild gathers momentum.

Rangers enter race for Brighton starlet

According to The Athletic’s Andy Naylor, Cozier-Duberry is among the names on the Gers’ radar this summer.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a stunning end to his season loan at Bolton Wanderers, helping them to a 4-1 victory over Stockport County in the League One play-off final in what proved to be a perfect send-off before the summer transfer window opens.

Naylor reported that Cozier-Duberry has also attracted interest from AS Monaco, Cercle Brugge, FC Koln and Schalke.

Brighton, though, are keen to retain the former Arsenal attacker’s services and have opened talks over a new deal.

Cozier-Duberry’s existing contract with the Seagulls runs until 2028, but the Tony Bloom-owned club are keen to tie him down to a longer agreement.

If fresh terms are agreed, Brighton will make a decision on whether to loan the England Under-20s international out again this summer.

After scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists in 40 games for Bolton, Cozier-Duberry is clearly in demand, and Brighton have a decision to make.

What Cozier-Duberry would bring to Ibrox

This interest does not come as a surprise, as the Ibrox outfit were interested in him before he joined Brighton from Arsenal in 2024.

A direct and pacey winger capable of operating on either flank, Cozier-Duberry would add a different dimension to Danny Rohl‘s attacking options, bringing the kind of creativity and directness that Rangers have at times lacked in wide areas this season.

With Mikey Moore returning to Tottenham after his loan, a player like Cozier-Duberry would certainly prove to be a solid addition to the Rangers ranks.

The Govan club’s pursuit of Cozier-Duberry represents another early signal of intent from Cavenagh – a chairman determined to back his manager with quality from the outset.

However, with the likes of Schalke and Monaco also interested in the winger, it remains to be seen if Rangers will emerge victorious in their pursuit.

Signing the Englishman on loan from Brighton might be the Glasgwegian outfit’s best chance of beating the rest of the teams in this race.
