Rangers will be hoping that they don’t start the season with just Scott Wright and Ross McCausland as natural options for the right wing role.
Philippe Clement has secured the return of Oscar Cortes but, with Abdallah Sima and Fabio Silva back at their parent clubs, there is a staggering lack of squad depth.
Players like Yusuf Kabadayi and Adama Traore have been linked, however, no new faces have been signed by Rangers.

Rangers named in Amario Cozier-Duberry transfer chase
Rangers have been named by The Standard as being interested in Cozier-Duberry alongside clubs like Ajax and Borussia Dortmunds as well as a couple of other Premier League teams.
His talent wasn’t a secret.
What would have alerted clubs last year was Jack Wilshere singing the winger’s praises:
“Amario is very exciting and Mikel (Arteta) likes him.
“He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting.
“In some moments he’s unplayable.
“You give him the ball and he can make things happen. You can set up a team and have a game plan, but when you’ve got individuals like that you’ve got a chance.”
Rangers miss out but Cozier-Duberry transfer link is exciting one
What is encouraging is that Rangers have been keeping an eye on players like Cozier-Duberry.
Like Calvin Bassey, there are plenty of young and talented players on the fringes of England’s top flight and, given some of the teams mentioned who have a habit of developing promising talent, not making it at Arsenal is no disgrace.
Wilshere’s comments are exactly the type of description that Rangers fans will want to hear for whoever Clement does eventually manage to get his hands on.
Cortes is nailed on to start on the left and Rabbi Matondo is a more than serviceable back-up, if he stays fit.
Talent like Cozier-Duberry is few and far between in Scotland, but in England, clubs are littered with players who could make a real difference at Rangers before making a profit further down the line.
Arsenal wanted to keep Cozier-Duberry, which is a similar story to that of Dujon Sterling.
A fans favourite already, Sterling has shone in every position he has played for Rangers despite barely getting a chance in his preferred right-back role.
Alongside Bassey, he has shown that the talent pool is infinitely deeper over the border.
Maybe next time we’ll be successful in signing them.
