Rangers have been dealt an apparent blow, with the Guardian claiming that reported transfer target Kwadwo Baah has agreed a pre-contract deal with Man City.

The 18-year-old winger has impressed in EFL League One with Rochdale so far this season and has attracted interest from big clubs with his contract expiring in the summer.

Last week, the Athletic reported that the Gers, West Ham, Bayern Munich and Juventus were all chasing Baah’s signature.

However, despite Pep Guardiola’s Man City being missed off that list, the Guardian reports that it’s they who have won the transfer race.

Baah reportedly turned down the chance to join City’s Academy earlier in his career but it’s asserted that he will move to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season for an undisclosed fee.

He is then expected to be loaned out to a Championship club for the 2021/22 campaign.

Baah is still raw and inexperienced at senior level, but as demonstrated during an outstanding individual performance away at Charlton earlier in the season, he has a devastating turn of pace and the ability to finish.

With the right coaching, he has the potential to become a star and it’s easy to see why Rangers were reportedly interested.

The Gers have been outgunned in this race, but it does look as though Steven Gerrard will add an exciting wide player on deadline day, with Scott Wright reportedly on the verge of a permanent switch from Aberdeen [Daily Record].

The 23-year-old has made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Dons this season, scoring two goals and notching five assists.

Wright is on his way out of Pittodrie, but Derek McInnes is reportedly close to sealing a late deal for a player Steven Gerrard had on loan at Ibrox last season.
