According to the Daily Record, given the departure of a number of defenders, the Gers could heighten their interest in Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia.
The 26-year-old, who moved to Old Trafford in 2022, will be leaving the Manchester outfit as his contract expires at the end of June.
That means that Rangers could secure his services on a free transfer if they decide to make a move for him.
The Netherlands international was also linked with Celtic last summer, but they ended up signing Marcelo Saracchi instead.
Malacia is looking for a new club this summer, and a move to the Scottish Premiership cannot be ruled out at this stage.
However, in order to secure a transfer, he will need to convince clubs of his fitness.

He has years of experience in the Scottish top flight and has been on the club’s radar previously, making the move a sensible one.
Malacia, despite being at one of the biggest clubs in the world, has faced fitness issues even though he has the ability to become one of the best defenders in Scotland.
