Rangers are understood to be keen on signing James Penrice to replace Jayden Meghoma, who is set to return to Brentford.
Meghoma moved to Ibrox on loan when Russell Martin was the manager and became the first-choice left-back until Tuur Rommens‘ arrival.
Since the January transfer window, Rommens has been the go-to option for Danny Rohl, but there is a willingness to sign a new left-back this summer.

Rangers to rekindle transfer interest in James Penrice
According to the Rangers Review, the Light Blues are ready to ramp up their pursuit of Penrice ahead of the summer transfer window.
The AEK Athens defender left Hearts last summer, and that decision has paid off, with him winning the Super League Greece title recently.
The 27-year-old has been an important player for AEK, making 32 appearances in all competitions for them.
Danny Rohl could leave amid links to RB Salzburg…
Who do you see replacing him?
Despite being there for only a year, he has already been linked with a return to Scotland.
Rangers wanted to sign Penrice in January as well, but he stayed put in Greece, with Rommens moving to Ibrox.
However, he continues to be liked by the Light Blues hierarchy, who want to sign him to replace Meghoma.

How can Danny Rohl get the best of Penrice?
Full-backs are paramount to the way Danny Rohl’s teams play, and there will be a lot riding on the new right-back and left-back the Gers are to sign this summer.
Penrice’s past experience in Scotland would hold him in good standing should he move to Ibrox this summer.
The 27-year-old is a good crosser of the ball, so Rohl would want him to hold the width and play as high up the pitch as possible.
The Rangers manager likes wingers who can cut inside and occupy the half spaces, making it ideal for someone like Penrice to bomb up and down the pitch.
The former Hearts left-back is also a good tackler and is capable of winning the ball high up the pitch, which would make him useful for a side that employs a high press.
It remains to be seen if he fits into the budget, but he undoubtedly will be a quality signing for the Gers.
