Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson claims the Ibrox club have not given hope of signing down Connor Goldson as his contract ticks down at Ibrox.
One of the Gers’ biggest assets and most consistent performers, ex-Brighton centre-back Goldson has cemented himself in the heart of the Rangers defence over the last four years.

Recently passing the milestone of 200 games for the club, the news was somewhat dampened by reports that the 29-year-old defender is set to leave at the end of the season.
Reputable Scottish football journalist Chris Jack claimed that Connor Goldson is interesting clubs down south and at this juncture is preparing to leave the club at the end of the season.
Previous reports in the Scottish Sun have suggested the likes of Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing the defender.
However, Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson has refused to rule out a deal with the defender ahead of next season and provided hope to Gers fans eager to see Connor commit.
Stewart Robertson claims Rangers “not resigned” to losing Connor Goldson
Speaking to Sky Sports 10 years on from Rangers going into administration on Valentines Day 2012, Robertson revealed that all is certainly not lost when it comes to the club’s vice-captain.
“The focus has all been on the last dozen football games, European games, and Scottish Cup. We’re not resigned to losing him,” said Robertson.
“I know Ross (Wilson) is having regular conversations with all the players whose contracts are expiring in the summer and that’s something that will be addressed in the coming months.
“I’m quite philosophical about how these things work. Players come in and sign a contract and they’ve committed for that time.
“If they serve their time and that’s what the club has signed up to as well then that’s fine.
“If someone leaves prior to their contract expiring and we get some revenue then again that’s something everybody is happy with.

“I get the noise that can sometimes follow these things but we just have to deal with what’s in front of us.”
It certainly sounds like Rangers are relaxed regarding the big defender’s future but in Connor Goldson we’ve got the feeling the club might not know what it’s got until he’s gone.
An influential player on the pitch and in the dressing room, Connor’s contribution to Rangers over the last few seasons has been monumental.
Meanwhile, one Rangers-linked Euro star has been talking about his future as his contract ticks down in Germany.
