Rangers star Connor Goldson is set to leave Ibrox when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to leading journalist Chris Jack.
Writing for the Glasgow Times, Jack was musing over the future of Ibrox star Alfredo Morelos who will either need to be moved on or signed up this summer with a year left on his deal.

The Colombian is a man on a rich vein of form in Glasgow and the club would surely be delighted to tie the 25-year-old down on a new deal but it’s unclear the situation from within camp Morelos.
Citing the Connor Goldson situation as an example of what can happen if Rangers allow deals to run down, the journalist believes that the defender will leave Ibrox in the summer.
The plan according Chris Jack is for Rangers vice-captain Goldson, now 29, to move back down south to England, four years after the defender joined the ranks of Ibrox from Brighton in a £3.5m deal [Scottish Sun].
The news comes as Goldson makes a landmark 200th appearance for the Gers in the 2-0 win over Hibs at Ibrox.
Rangers to “lose” Connor Goldson when contract expires
“Rangers will lose Connor Goldson – one of the stalwarts of the team and one of the most valuable assets on paper – for free at the end of the campaign as he gets set to return to England after four successful seasons in Scotland,” writes Jack.
“Goldson should be thanked and appreciated for his efforts, but it must sting that Rangers won’t receive a penny for him when he is in the prime of his career and could command a significant fee in the market.”
Known to be close to Rangers and a reputable source when it comes to the club, if Chris Jack is making these claims then they’ll have some level of credence.

It’ll be a massive blow to lose Connor Goldson but let’s hope that the defender uses this as motivation to leave Ibrox on a high as the title race bottlenecks.
Connor Goldson has made a massive contribution to Rangers over the last few seasons, scoring 30 goals, laying on 11 assists and playing every single minute of the Gers’ unbeaten 55-clinching season.
Meanwhile, both Rangers and a team of Scottish Premiership rivals could rue a stubborn transfer decision at the end of the January window.
