Aberdeen value Bojan Miovski at over £5m in reports which kill any potential January Rangers interest in the striker stone dead.

The Dons are reportedly bracing themselves for interest in the Macedonian hitman, 24, who has already scored 15 goals this season.

Rangers have reportedly watched the striker with Philippe Clement’s side known to be in the market for a new hitman this January.

But news that Aberdeen value Bojan Miovski north of £5m means the valuation is certainly a little too rich for Rangers’ blood with Ibrox attentions likely to be focused elsewhere.

As reported by Sky Sports, Aberdeen want a club record fee north of the £5m paid by Liverpool for Calvin Ramsay should clubs be seriously interested in Miovski.

As things stand, there has been no official interest in the striker but it’s said clubs in Germany, Italy, and Spain are all monitoring the forward’s situation.

Aberdeen hold the aces given Bojan Miovski still has two-and-a-half years to run on his Pittodrie deal, with the striker impressing ever since moving to the Scottish Premiership from Hungarian side MTK.

Rangers have also been linked with a move for Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland in this window, but reports this week suggested the Gers were priced out of a move.

With the Jambos valuation said to be only £3m, applying the same logic to Bojan Miovski means Rangers have been priced out of any potential switch.

Rangers on striker transfer hunt

It leaves the Ibrox club in something of predicament heading into January with this summer’s £21m spend firmly under the microscope.

The bulk of that cash was lobbed on forward trio Sam Lammers (£3.5m), Cyriel Dessers (£4.5m) and Danilo (£6m) with the jury still firmly out on all three forwards.

Lammers and Dessers in particular have been distinct disappointments, whilst Brazilian striker Danilo has barely been off the treatment table.

Rangers have already moved to sign Wolves forward Fabio Silva on loan until the end of the season but additional transfer reinforcements are desperately needed if this squad are to go on and lift the title.

But with money tight Rangers fans should not expect any big money deals to be sanctioned and we can categorically say we won’t be spending £5m+ on Bojan Miovski either.

Southampton are said to be amongst the frontrunners for the striker’s signature.
