Rangers are unlikely to move for Bojan Miovski as Southampton’s transfer chief begs to sign the Aberdeen hitman in January.
Rangers boss Philippe Clement wanted a new striker in January and he has already signed one before the transfer window has even opened.
Portuguese talent Fabio Silva has arrived on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers and will be raring to go once he gets down to work in January.
Other strikers have been linked but Rangers may have to settle for one loanee after a summer spending spree by Michael Beale…
Bojan Miovski out of Rangers reach as Southampton prepare to move
One of the most popular names in Rangers conversations is Aberdeen hitman Bojan Miovski.
The North Macedonian striker has smashed 32 goals in 69 games since joining Aberdeen from MTK Budapest in 2022.
Reports earlier in December indicated that whilst Rangers have been eyeing up Miovski, a move was unlikely to materialise.
The reason? Well, it was suggested that the money being demanded for Miovski was simply beyond Rangers.
We now have more of an idea about the price tag with the Daily Record suggesting that Aberdeen want around £6.5million for Miovski.
Southampton are really interested in Miovski with transfer chief Darren Mowbray believed to be urging the Saints to make a move.
Head of recruitment Mowbray was the man who brought Miovski to Aberdeen in the first place and now wants to take him to England.

Rangers can’t really challenge Southampton if the price tag is £6.5million, but that will only place more focus on Beale’s summer spending.
Beale spent £5.6million on Cyriel Dessers, at least £5.2million on Danilo and around £3.5million on Sam Lammers.
The total outlay comes to around £14million and we are yet to see any of them really live up to the price tags.
Dessers has flattered to deceive, Danilo has shown some promise but is now injured whilst Lammers has been disappointing as more of a number 10.
£14million on those three now leaves Rangers having to sit idly by and watch a proven Scottish Premiership striker – with potential to develop even more – most likely head to England rather than Ibrox.
Miovski is now out of reach for Rangers and not even being able to get involved in the race will only put the spotlight on the summer business.
There is still time for Dessers, Danilo and Lammers to turn it around and become Rangers favourites.
Right now though, that summer spending looks rather wasteful and could impact Rangers’ ability to sign other strikers moving forward, with Miovski seemingly one to forget about heading into January.
