Philippe Clement will have been considerably happier with what he saw against Union Berlin as Rangers finally found their goalscoring feet.
Four well taken goals were scored with Cyriel Dessers and Tom Lawrence serving a timely reminder why they shouldn’t be written off just yet – both have their flaws but they are capable of producing numbers.
The manager will be in for a busy week now that the preparations are over with problems still to be solved in his squad.

Philippe Clement gives Rangers transfer update
For example, Lawrence played well against Union, but the only backup after him is Alex Lowry.
It is the same in midfield with little quality outside of the starting options of Connor Barron and Mohamed Diomande.
Speaking after the eventful 4-4 draw with the Bundesliga outfit, Philippe Clement hinted that new faces are on the way to Ibrox not that he was giving Rangers fans any clues:
“That is a good question as a journalist but you know I can’t answer that because as long as there is no pen on paper, there is nothing in this world.
“It can be five minutes, five weeks… I don’t know, but there will be other signings.”
When the Gers boss was asked specifically about Lawrence Shankland, he gave little away:
“I don’t go into rumours and I will not speak about players of teams we are going to play against.”
Could “other signings” be Joan Jordan and Hannibal
Clement has spoken about having players already lined-up to come to Rangers but that the need to move others on was an immediate priority.
A bid for Joan Jordan has been accepted by Sevilla as Rangers hunt for a number six continues but it is unclear as to whether or not the player himself will accept the offer to move to the SPFL.
The exciting transfer rumour that emerged recently was for Man Utd’s Hannibal with talks said to be at an “advanced stage”.
A player who is as aggressive as he is capable of covering every blade of grass, not only this, but he has the technical ability to match too.
Barron and Diomande have looked together in the engine room but they need a bit of help, signing players of the calibre of Jordan and Hannibal wouldn’t just help them, they would make them better.
The only surprise is why he hasn’t had more of a chance at Old Trafford.
When the story broke over Vaclav Cerny’s move to Rangers it came out of nowhere and came quickly.
Rangers could do with another couple of deals to be completed just as quickly in the coming days – even if Lawrence Shankland isn’t one of them.
