Reported Rangers target David Jurasek has been snapped at Slavia Prague’s warm weather training camp.
But it appears the Ibrox-linked Czech star was only visiting his old teammates for a quick hello.
The three-times capped Czech international, 23, spent around 18 months with the Czech First League side before a whopping €14m (£12m) switch to Benfica in the summer.
That move hasn’t quite gone to plan as things stand and with Benfica moving to sign Manchester United left-back Alvaro Fernandez on loan for the rest of the season, an exit reportedly beckons.
David Jurasek back with Slavia Prague
Rangers are said to be one of several clubs tailing the talented Czech star but as the speculation rumbles David Jurasek has been spotted back in the Slavia Prague camp.
Alongside fellow ex-Slavia star Alexander Bah, a Danish right-back who also moved to Portugal from the Prague club, the duo were snapped by Slavia’s official media visiting their camp in the Algarve.
In a reel uploaded to Slavia’s official Instagram account, the Czech club wrote:
“Old love doesn’t rust! Former celebrities David Jurasek and Alex Bah came to visit us in the Algarve. We are so happy to see you guys!”
Benfica left-back a Rangers transfer option?
Rangers fans have been following the situation of David Jurasek closely with the left-back now up against it to break into Roger Schmidt’s team this season.
Brazilian defender Morato has been preferred at left-back for the majority of the season with Jurasek struggling to break back into the team after an early-season ankle injury.
Throw in the signing of Alvaro Fernandez and suddenly minutes look very unlikely for the Czech left-back, who reportedly has a €80m release clause in his Benfica contract.

It points to a short-term transfer exit for the player, for whom the Portuguese giants will retain high hopes, as he looks to get minutes under his belt this season.
Meanwhile the speculation persists around the left-back position at Rangers, with manager Philippe Clement suggesting the club are in the hunt for a new option.
