Bayern loanee Malik Tillman has broken his silence amid growing transfer speculation surrounding his Rangers future.

The USA international attacking midfielder, 20, has been a bright spark in an otherwise frustratingly dull season for Rangers after joining on loan from the Bundesliga giants in the summer.

After another double in the weekend’s 2-0 victory over Dundee Utd, Rangers manager Michael Beale confirmed the Ibrox side are in negotiations over Malik Tillman.

With the Bayern option-to-buy reportedly only £5m, they’d genuinely be mad not to be.

Malik Tillman talks Rangers deal

All of this discussion is happening against the backdrop of what Malik Tillman wants, the USA international already clearly streets ahead of this division.

But speaking after his two latest goals at the weekend, Malik Tillman has given the Rangers support cause for optimism.

The player is quoted as saying he is “enjoying my football and will see what happens in the summer” by BBC Sport.

This comes after Michael Beale talked up the possibility of signing Malik Tillman over the weekend.

Rangers director Ross Wilson was praised for securing the Tillman deal and is now tasked with making the initial loan switch permanent.

“Ross (Wilson) is away in the background speaking to Bayern,” said Beale.

“They have obviously had a change of coach, but we want to activate the clause that we got.

There are discussions about that, but he has been really good for us.

He has been injured of late but it’s nice to see him, Todd (Cantwell) and Ryan (Kent) playing together.”

Malik Tillman has made 39 appearances for Rangers, scoring 12 goals and laying on five assists.

The talented player has been a rare bright spark in a season of pain for the Ibrox side, with injuries decimating the squad and heaping the pressure on sporting director Ross Wilson.
