The transfer window isn’t even open yet and the saga of the summer appears to be Luis Palma and his on/off move to Rangers.

The Honduras international is said to be keen on the move and is determined to leave Greece in the next window, however, his club are playing hardball.

A price tag of £4.4m has been set, Aris won’t accept less for Luis Palma from Rangers with the deal, according to SDNA, being dead in the water already.

“In this case and in everything he has with Rangers, from Palma liking the Glasgow team until an official proposal that will satisfy Aris is on the table, there is a huge distance that does not seem able to be covered. A lot of money!

“And somewhere here, as much as the Scottish media keep Palma’s name in the “Gers” transfer report, the Palma case – according to information from SDNA – closes for Rangers.”

Will Luis Palma get his move to Rangers/

The cause of collapse, as it usually does, centres around the fee and finances.

Rangers have reportedly offered £2.5m, Aris want £4.4m

It’s a standard opening bid but, as we all know, the window has yet to officially open.

Very rarely do clubs make their biggest offer straight away, also, it would be a surprise to see Rangers give up after one bid and almost no negotiations.

A source close to the board has informed The 4th Official that Rangers are happy to be patient which makes a lot of sense.

Likewise, why would Aris sell to the first and only bidder?

It’s a transfer story as old as the transfer window itself.

A lowball offer is made early doors to assess what the selling club is looking for, a price is set, and then a fee structure is reached that sees both parties happy.

Luis Palma screams some sort of deal that has add ons taking the total up to what they are looking for, eventually.

There is certainly no need for panic, it’s not even day one yet!
