Phil Parkinson has issued an update on attacker Josh Windass amid summer transfer links to Rangers.

Despite signing Lawrence Shankland from Hearts, Danny Rohl is understood to be keen on signing more attackers.

The Light Blues are working on multiple deals, so it remains to be seen which position is officially strengthened next.

Which area should Rangers prioritise on strengthening this summer? 🤔

Andrew Cavenagh has made some bold promises!

Wrexham expect Josh Windass to stay

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson admits that he expects Windass to stay at the club as he has no plans to weaken the squad.

At the same time, he has admitted that he is happy that there is interest in one of his players, as it means the team are doing something right behind the scenes.

Rangers have been linked with Windass, and while he is not understood to be high up their wishlist, they are going to find it a lot harder to convince him to join.

Which of these strikers are Rangers expected to sell?

Lawrence Shankland's arrival will surely change things!

Parkinson is expected to fight tooth and nail to retain the services of the 32-year-old English attacking midfielder.

He said: “There was no contact in January for Josh, not officially. Josh is our player; he had a good season and we are looking forward to him building on that next year.

“We are looking to add to the quality we have got, not lose it.

”I think we would be disappointed if there wasn’t some interest in our players. It is inevitable, but we have got the key players we want on long contracts and we are in a good position on that front.

“We are looking to build on what we did last year and improve the squad to make us really competitive again.”

Will Rangers rue not signing Windass?

At 32, Rangers are hardly going to regret not being able to sign Windass.

The Englishman is in the twilight of his career and arguably does not even strengthen the Light Blues’ strongest eleven.

Which midfielder can make Rangers title winners?

Danny Rohl is looking to sign at least one…

Also, with Andrew Cavenagh making big financial promises, it only makes sense for the club to target a higher calibre player this summer.

There are plenty of attacking midfielders who are better than Windass who would be willing to move to Ibrox this summer.

It makes sense to prioritise their signings instead of bringing in a short-term option.
