Championship side Swansea City failed in a late January bid for reported Rangers target and West Brom striker Karlan Grant.
That’s according to BBC Sport, who reported back in February that the Welsh side had a keen interest in taking the 25-year-old on loan to the Liberty Stadium until the end of the season.

But any prospective loan deal collapsed in the final stages of the window and, as a result, now Rangers-linked Karlan Grant stayed put at West Brom until the end of this campaign.
Swansea failed in Karlan Grant bid
Rangers fan interest in these reports are twofold given previous January interest from Ibrox in Swansea City attacker Morgan Whittaker.
Swansea recalled the attacker after a stunning first half of the season at Plymouth, but resisted genuine Rangers interest in Whittaker with the Ibrox side said to also be considering a summer swoop.
Had Swansea managed to manufacture a move for Grant in January, perhaps Rangers would have been able to complete a deal for Whittaker.
The interest is also worthy of note heading into the summer transfer window given apparently renewed Rangers interest in the one-time £15m striker.
That’s the fee West Brom reportedly paid Huddersfield to sign Grant in 2020, around 18 months on from reported Rangers interest in the striker during his time at Charlton.
Rangers have renewed their interest
Now, Darren Witcoop of the Mirror is reporting that Rangers are set to renew long-term interest in Grant, which stems back to the time of Steven Gerrard, as the club looks to rebuild this summer.
However, the journalist claims there are also “Championship admirers” monitoring the player’s situation and, given Swansea’s summer interest, perhaps they are one of the clubs looking at Grant.
Rangers have been linked with a host of moves south of the border with a trio of pre-contract signings reportedly close to completion as the club looks to get a headstart on their summer business.
