Joey Veerman is one of the most popular Rangers links of the summer but any expectant Gers fans will be disappointed by the player’s latest comments.
Veerman, 22, is a talented young Dutch midfield playmaker who was extensively linked to Rangers at the beginning of the summer [Scottish Sun].

With the price range reportedly varying between £5m-£9m the player would prove an expensive outlay but with Stevie Davis in the twilight of the career plenty were excited by the prospect.
The Gers were named alongside the likes of Dutch giants Ajax and PSV as potential suitors whilst Atalanta of Serie A were also mentioned.
But after the Bergamo club reportedly set their sights on a reported £17m bid to bring Dutch counterpart Teun Koopmeiners to the club, it paved the way for Rangers to pounce.
Not only that, but Veerman himself anticipated a move abroad as PSV reportedly prepare to move for Brighton midfielder Davy Propper [Brighton Argus].
“It’s just what kind of club comes along. I think it will be very difficult in the Netherlands, so there’s only one thing to do,” said Veerman [ESPN via Daily Record].
“As it looks now, I’m still at Heerenveen and I’m doing my best and nothing else is going on there.
“Ajax has a lot of good midfielders, PSV just chose someone else. I happened to be on the beach with him (Propper). Not together, but he was also on that beach in Ibiza.
“Then we heard that afternoon that news. That’s a bit of a bummer, but you can’t do anything about it. Suppose he hadn’t made it, then you don’t know whether they would have got me just as well.”

Now, Joey Veerman is back in the press as he is quoted as claiming interest from Serie A side Hellas Verona is of serious interest to him as they reportedly table a £5m bid.
“I would like to take this step, yes,” said Veerman [Leeuwarder Courant via Daily Record].
“Hellas Verona seems like a very nice club. They finished tenth in Serie A last season. Moreover, Verona is a beautiful city, ten-minute drive from Lake Garda. I used to go there on holiday.
“It is exciting. But we will see what will happen. I hope that a club will soon reach an agreement with Heerenveen.”

The reported fee of £5m is certainly a step down from the £9m quoted by Heerenveen manager Johnny Jansen but as things stand there’s no inclination the Gers could pounce.
