Rangers fans have responded on social media after the Gers were linked with a move for in-demand Heerenveen playmaker Joey Veerman.
Voetbal International reported on Wednesday afternoon that the Gers are following Veerman closely and the Scottish Sun later backed up that report, claiming that the Glasgow club are ‘in the hunt’ for the 22-year-old, who they expect to cost upwards of £5m.

Amongst the other clubs credited with interest by the reports are Stade de Reims, Atalanta, Southampton, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.
It’s easy to see why so many big teams are said to be plotting a move.
Despite his age, Veerman already has 139 senior appearances under his belt.
He can play all across the midfield as well as in advanced roles, while his stats this season – nine goals and ten assists from all competitions – are excellent for a player at a mid-table club.
Plenty of Rangers supporters are excited by the 6ft 1″ player’s profile and numbers and want to see him at Ibrox, but others are more skeptical, pointing to a potentially high transfer fee as a possible stumbling block.

Here’s a selection of reactions from Twitter:

Veerman isn’t the only star Rangers have been linked with this week, as the club have also reportedly ‘registered interest’ in an in-form Premier League player.
