Rangers insiders Heart & Hand claim that the reportedly imminent arrival of Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers will not put the brakes on links to Feyenoord’s Danilo.
The leading Ibrox fan media outlet have close links to the club and made the claim on Twitter as Rangers reportedly close in on a deal to make Cyriel Dessers’ their sixth signing of the summer.
Should the deal go through then it will be Rangers’ eighth transfer under Michael Beale, with fans beginning to see a clearer picture of the direction the manager wants to take the club.
In a tweet sent to supporters, Heart & Hand said:
“Rangers still interested in Danilo even with Dessers arriving.”
Cyriel Dessers Rangers move won’t halt Danilo interest
Following Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell, who signed in January, Rangers have added Kieran Dowell (Norwich City), Dujon Sterling (Chelsea), Jack Butland (Crystal Palace), Sam Lammers (Atalanta) and Abdallah Sima (Brighton, loan) this summer.
Cyriel Dessers now looks increasingly likely to be the club’s next transfer and as a result of the reports, Rangers fans might’ve been thinking about potential interest in Feyenoord’s Danilo coming to an end.
Rangers reportedly had a bid – believed to be in the region of £3.5m – rejected from Feyenoord for Danilo before the news surrounding Cyriel Dessers began to break.
But now Heart & Hand have confirmed that Rangers remain interested in signing Danilo, even with Cyriel Dessers inching closer, in news which symbolises two things to Ibrox supporters.

Firstly, that the club are serious about backing Michael Beale in the transfer market and are willing to spend to bring quality options into the club for next season.
Secondly, it suggests that no matter what happens with Cyriel Dessers and Danilo heading into next week, Rangers are clearly on the hunt for two quality striking additions after a profligate few seasons in front of goal.
This is after the club already added two new attackers in the shape of Sam Lammers and Abdallah Sima, even if they don’t have the same number 9 profile of the other two targets.
