Sky Sports News report that Ryan Kent has his ‘heart set’ on a return to Rangers before the end of the European transfer window.
It’s also suggested that he’s not pinning all his hopes on it, though, and that he’s keeping his options open amid apparent interest from clubs in both Belgium and France.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Ibrox, scoring six times in 43 matches in all competitions.

Those stats may not look like much, but he impressed so much with his general play, that he was named Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year.
Naturally, Steven Gerrard is keen to have him back for a second stint, but after months of talk, a deal is yet to be completed.
Meanwhile, the player himself remains in limbo at Anfield. Despite his prominent role in pre-season, Kent is not in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans. He briefly dropped down to the U23 team for game time but has been omitted from their last two matches.
Former Rangers loanee Kent keen to reunite with Gerrard
It had all gone a little quiet on the player’s side recently, but the Sky Sports report asserts a return to Glasgow is in fact what the player wants.

The idea of him keeping his options open seems fair enough, though. If Liverpool won’t accept terms presented by Rangers and he turns down the chance to move elsewhere, he could be condemned to six months with the Reds U23s or worse, no football at all.
Yet, if the club were able to strike a deal of some kind to bring him back, it would both delight the fans and add yet more firepower to Gerrard’s armoury.
It seems that Kent hasn’t yet given up hope and while a deal is still possible, neither will Bears.
