Rangers fans demand announcement in chase for star's signature

Some Rangers fans are growing increasingly impatient.
The season ended in defeat away to Kilmarnock at the weekend and with that, technically, so did Ryan Kent’s loan spell.

The same could be said for both Joe Worrall and Lassana Coulibaly.
On Wednesday afternoon, Worrall posted on Twitter to thank the club and the fans for a memorable experience in Glasgow.

However, there’s still no clarity in terms of Kent’s situation.
This is turning into something of a saga.
We’ve heard various valuations thrown about by different sources. The most recent of which, was a whopping £12 million [Liverpool Echo].
At that price, it’s extremely unlikely Rangers would have the funding to secure a permanent deal. Despite that, Steven Gerrard confirmed that the club have made Liverpool an offer [Daily Record].

Whether that’s an attempt to buy or to bring the 22-year-old back to Ibrox on another loan deal, it’s unclear.
Either way, though, the Gers manager will do everything he can to keep him.
The longer it drags out for, though, the more anxious Bears are becoming. Despite the transfer window not opening until next month, the majority of posts from the club’s Twitter account are being met by the same responses, regardless of the tweet’s content.
Some variant on – ‘Announce Kent.’

It’s reminiscent of the mid-season ‘Free Katic’ campaign and the fans eventually got their wish there.
Let’s hope a deal is eventually done at some stage. When we have confirmation, either way, social media will go into meltdown.

Clearly, there’s a thought that Kent’s fate could be transfer-window defining for Rangers. One thing’s for sure, if the SFA Young Player of the Year returns to Anfield, he’ll leave a gaping hole behind him.
