Rangers are continuing to explore options to sign new midfielders, with Sturm Graz’s Ryan Fosso emerging on their radar.
Fosso is liked by the Ibrox hierarchy, with Rangers News reporting the story on Thursday.
At the same time, the Light Blues are understood to be working on two separate deals to bring Partizan midfielder Vanja Dragojevic and Tromso ace Jens Hjerto-Dahl to Glasgow this summer.
If Lewis Ferguson joins post the World Cup, who should Derek McInnes name the Rangers captain?
This is assuming Nicolas Raskin leaves Rangers…
Rangers will need to shell out six figures to sign Ryan Fosso
After Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri broke the news of the club’s interest in Fosso, Rangers News investigated the interest further to see how much it would cost to sign the 24-year-old.
It’s understood that the deal can be done on the cheap by the Ibrox outfit, with them needing to shell out a six-figure sum initially to bring the Cameroon international to the club.
The Light Blues have already begun conversations with the midfielder’s representatives over a potential transfer in the coming days.
It remains to be seen if Fosso is ahead of Dragojevic and Hjerto-Dahl in the pecking order, or if he’s just being prepared in case one of the two deals falls through.
With Dan Neil joining and impressing in pre-season, the Gers need just two more midfielders this summer, as Mohamed Diomande is expected to leave.
In case Nicolas Raskin leaves, Rangers may re-enter the market for another midfielder, but then they are likely to shell out a big transfer fee on someone like Lewis Ferguson.

What can Fosso bring to the table for Rangers?
Fosso is a defensive midfielder who does well at screening the backline and using his physical presence to dominate possession in the middle of the park.
He is known to keep things safe and tidy, and rarely will he attempt a risky pass that can risk a turnover.
The Cameroon international also has a good shot on him and is capable of firing home a shot from long range as well.
While he would be a good option to have in reserve or one to bring on while protecting a lead, he may not be an ideal signing if the intention is to strengthen the playing eleven.
