The technical director of Watford has reportedly told media in Greece that the English Championship side have not bid for Rangers-linked Aris attacker Luis Palma.
According to Greek outlet Transfer Geeks, Watford director Cristiano Giaretta has rejected suggestions that the Hornets are set to strike a loan-to-buy with Luis Palma this summer.

They report that Giaretta has been “categorical” in his claims that there is “no truth” in the reports and that Watford have not submitted a bid for the 23-year-old winger.
The claims come after reports in the Daily Mail had suggested that Watford were closing in on a loan-to-buy deal which would eventually be worth around £5.35m.
According to the reports, Luis Palma would cost Watford an initial £850k before the Vicarage Road side would pay another £4.5m come to the end of the season.
However, it now appears that this is not true and it’ll have plenty of Rangers fans turning their heads given extensive Ibrox links to Luis Palma earlier in the window.
No Watford bid for Rangers-linked Luis Palma?
According to reports, Rangers had a £2.5m bid rejected for the Honduran international right at the beginning of the summer as the club looked to replace Ryan Kent.
With Greek outfit Aris reportedly demanding too much for Luis Palma, Rangers’ attentions turned elsewhere and the likes of Watford, and even Manchester United, have now been linked from down south.
Rangers have been investing heavily in their playing squad this summer, particularly the frontline, with the likes of Abdallah Sima coming in on loan from Brighton and potentially putting an end to any Palma links.

But the reporting around Rangers and Luis Palma remains consistent with the Ibrox side even mentioned by the same reports which were claiming that Watford had struck a deal.
It’s likely that Rangers will continue to be mentioned alongside Luis Palma until the Aris winger’s future is decided one way or another this window.
Contracted until the summer of 2026 in the Greek Super League, Aris hold all the cards and as the window rolls on perhaps the attacker might even remain in south-east Europe next season after all.
