Rangers have been credited with an interest in signing Cammy Devlin this summer, having already raided Hearts for Lawrence Shankland.

The Light Blues have started the summer transfer window on the front foot, roping in Shankland from Hearts on a two-year deal.

With Danny Rohl keen to oversee a squad overhaul ahead of his first full season as the Rangers boss, the club are expected to turn their attention to other positions in the coming weeks.

While signing a replacement for James Tavernier is considered a priority, the Govan club are also casting a net to find options to bolster their midfield.

Devlin has four offers already

Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande are likely to leave Rangers this summer, meaning strengthening the midfield is going to be a major task for Andrew Cavenagh and Co.

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the Gers have been linked with a host of midfielders, including Dan Neil and Elliot Watt.

In May, STV Radio host Ewan Cameron, a Hearts fan himself, reported that the Glaswegian outfit are plotting another raid on Derek McInnes’s side for Devlin, who is a free agent.

However, the Australia international already has offers from four different clubs, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper reported that Devlin has been offered improved terms to stay at Hearts, but also has big-money proposals to move abroad.

He has received offers from the MLS, Turkish Super Lig and the EFL Championship, thus leaving him torn.

Rangers out of Devlin race

Devlin is reportedly torn between his love for Hearts and the financial lure of the aforementioned leagues, as he ponders his future.

This means Rangers are more or less out of the race to sign the 28-year-old.

Given the situation, it appears the Ibrox outfit viewed Devlin as a potential opportunistic signing and not a top target.

While the Sydney-born midfielder has been a key player for the Jambos, his profile is not big enough for Rangers.

Therefore, Rohl would not be too disappointed about missing out on Devlin.-
