Rangers might be close to agreeing a deal for goalkeeper Jack Butland, but not before the Michael Beale cast a glance over Norwich City stopper Angus Gunn.
The goalkeeping position at Ibrox has been the subject of much debate all season long with Jon McLaughlin flapping between the sticks and Allan McGregor edging ever closer to retirement.

Robby McCrorie hasn’t gotten a sniff between injuries and the competition and now the latest reports suggest Jack Butland could be about to sign for Rangers.
Out of contract at Crystal Palace at the end of the season and currently on loan at Man Utd, a move for former England number one Jack Butland could be considered a bit of a coup for Rangers.
Rangers boss watches Norwich keeper Angus Gunn
Jack Butland isn’t the only goalkeeper being linked to Ibrox with Scotland international stopper and Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn also the subject of Rangers reports.
Likely to command a decent fee for his services, earlier reports had suggested the former Southampton goalie was amongst the frontrunners at the top of the Ibrox shortlist.
Michael Beale – who was reportedly in the stands to see Norwich and QPR play out a 1-1 draw last week – would‘ve also cast one last glance over the goalkeeper as those Butland reports intensify.
Angus Gunn played the whole match for Norwich City but the stopper might not have been the only subject of the Rangers manager’s attention down south.
The likes of QPR pair Chris Willock and Lyndon Dykes have been extensively linked, although only Scotland international Dykes actually played in the game, scoring the Rs only goal.
Contrary to reports, the Rangers manager was also not watching Kieran Dowell in the crowd at Loftus Road, especially given the midfielder has been sidelined for months with a knee injury.
