Leading Scottish football journalist Mark Guidi claims that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is “up for the fight Ibrox” – even if the club doesn’t qualify for the Champions League.
Colombian striker Morelos, 25, has been extensively linked with a move to Portuguese club FC Porto this summer with reports of a potential bid anywhere between €10m (£8.6m) and €15m (£12.8m) [A Bola].

There were conflicting reports concerning the legitimacy of the interest with claims also suggesting Morelos would need to force a move from Rangers in order to make it happen.
Questions on the reported interest – which has heralded no bids to date – also annoyed Ibrox gaffer Steven Gerrard who took aim at these messages in the press.
“I don’t know (if Morelos will be at Rangers next season). I can’t answer that for you,” said Gerrard [Sky Sports].
“I get asked this question every window and every few weeks because you read more about Alfredo in terms of who he is linked with or where he’s possibly going to go rather than talk about what he does on a football pitch.
“It’s getting a bit tiresome that question. For me, we want the best version of Alfredo, that’s all we ever asked for. The manager, the players, the fans, that’s all we ask for.
“I’ve read a lot of stuff around Alfredo. I know where it’s coming from but I don’t know what’s going to happen with him.
“He is due back at some point, we’re not sure when but hopefully he’ll arrive when he’s ready.
“I’m not frustrated, I’m very happy. We’re just off the back of a fantastic season and I’m so excited for the next season.”
This had Rangers fans frustrated with the striker who was delayed getting back into the country because of the success of Colombia at the Copa America.
The South American nation finished third at the competition and were involved up until the very final weekend, playing their last game against Peru on 10th July.
With Morelos now back in the UK, Mark Guidi is claiming that he’s heard that far from be willing an exit the striker is ready to dig in his heels and prove he wants to stay at Ibrox.

“I heard a bit of news today that Alfredo Morelos is up for the challenge at Rangers and he wants to stay at Rangers,” Guidi told the GO Radio Football Show [02/08/21].
“There’s been talks, really positive talks, especially if Rangers get into the Champions League, but even if they don’t, he appears to be up for the fight and is not looking to push to get away.”
Rangers legend Barry Ferguson would then give substance to the claims by stating that Guidi “knows his stuff”.
Rangers striker Morelos appeared to send a cryptic message on his social media amid all the interest this week, leading to some rival fans pleading with him to move to their club.
