Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has posted on Instagram amid speculation about his future, with Porto fans begging him to move to their club.
Morelos has been heavily linked with a switch to Porto during the current transfer window, as the Portuguese giants search for a replacement for previous star striker Moussa Marega, who has joined Al-Hilal.
El Bufalo is under contract until 2023, but earlier this month, A Bola reported that he would try to convince Rangers officials to sell him, having already asked Colombia teammates Mateus Uribe and Luis Diaz about life in Portugal’s second-largest city.
The consistent issue throughout the window has allegedly been a sizeable gap between the two clubs in terms of their valuations of the player, though, and O Jogo recently asserted that the chances of a transfer are fading.
Morelos is yet to join up with his Rangers teammates for the 2021/22 campaign as he is self-isolating following a short post-Copa America holiday.
However, he should return to training at some stage this week, and on Sunday, he took to Instagram with a simple message.
He posted a photo of him celebrating a goal last season with a ‘shushing’ gesture and captioned the post with the shushing emoji.
The post went down well with Bears, who will hope it’s targeted at those speculating about his future, and by the time of writing it had racked up over 36k likes.
However, there were also plenty of Porto fans in the comments who pleaded for the striker to join the Dragons.
‘COME TO PORTO’, wrote one, ‘Porto is waiting for you Morelos’ wrote another and another replied ‘Come to Porto, come be happy’.
Many similar comments were left by other supporters of the Portuguese giants, suggesting that he’d be a very popular signing if he were to move.
On Friday, Steven Gerrard claimed that no official bids had been received for any player other than George Edmundson.
Rangers got their Premiership season underway with a 3-0 win over Livingston at the weekend but they could reportedly face sanctions for a surprise move during the game.
