Rangers are looking to secure the services of Leicester City ace Stephy Mavididi over the coming days.

The Light Blues are considering a number of attacking options, especially on the wings, due to the clear lack of quality in that area.

Vaclav Cerny has admirers at Rangers, but his wages could prove to be a stumbling block, despite talks continuing behind the scenes.

Rangers hold talks with Leicester City to sign Stephy Mavididi

According to the reliable Mark Hendry on his Substack, the Light Blues have already opened talks with Leicester for Mavididi.

It’s understood that the Foxes are looking for £7m to part ways with the 28-year-old English winger.

The English club suffered relegation and are playing in the third tier, making it harder for them to retain the services of their star players.

What is your reaction to the new third kit?

It's fair to say a lot of Rangers fans have hated it…

Rangers, who decided not to sign Andreas Skov Olsen permanently, are looking to bolster their wide attacking options.

Mikey Moore’s future also appears up in the air, so if there is a chance to sign Mavididi, they are likely to take it.

Rangers News understands that there is no bid that has been made for him, but that could change if talks progress between the clubs, as well as with the 28-year-old’s representatives.

What can Mavididi bring to this Rangers side?

Mavididi is a right-footed player, who looks to play on the left wing and cut inside.

He likes carrying the ball down the wing and using his stronger foot to either curl shots or whip balls into the box.

The 28-year-old is direct and likes to take on defenders, something Rangers need as they have teams playing in low blocks against them.

The Englishman did grow up playing as a striker, so he has the know-how of finding himself in goal-scoring positions.

With players like Lawrence Shankland and Youssef Chermiti ahead of him, Mavididi will have a lot of fun playing in the final third and he could be among those leading the assists charts come the end of the season.
